How to complain to the State's plumbing and contractor licensing departments.

Before sending your complaint make sure it falls within the jurisdiction of the contractor licensing department or board. You can check what kinds of complaints are typically investigated by the state contractor licensing authorities here.

Nebraska:
There is no state licensing for contractors (except electrical) in Nebraska. There is local licensing in counties with populations over 100,000.
File a complaint regarding your plumber or other contractor with The Nebraska Attorney General's Office.

Complain to the New Hampshire Department of Safety, Division of Fire Safety, Bureau of Building Safety and Construction.

The Construction Industries Division of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department investigates complaints against contractors.

New York:
File your contractor complaint with the Regional Offices of the New York State Attorney General or with your county or city contractor licensing departments.

North Carolina:
Complain about your plumber to NC State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating and Fire Sprinkler Contractors.
About electrical contractor complain to the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors.
General contractors: For questions concerning complaints or to request a complaint form, please call the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors Violations & Complaints Section.

File your Ohio electrical, HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, and refrigeration contractor complaints with the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB).

Oklahoma:
You may complain about electrician, plumber, mechanical or roofing contractor to the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board. Or file your complaint with the Oklahoma Office of Attorney General.

Oregon:
You may complain about contractor to The Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB) Dispute Resolution Services (DRS) .

Pennsylvania:
You can file your complaint with the office of Pennsylvania Attorney General.

For a fee of $25 you can file a claim with the State of Rhode Island Contractors' Registration and Licensing Board. Or file your complaint for free with the State of Rhode Island Attorney General office.

South Carolina:
A complaint against a residential contractor (including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing) may be made to the Office of Investigations and Enforcement (OIE) of the South Carolina Division of Professional and Occupational Licensing Boards (POL).

South Dakota:
