Comment: Heating and plumbing industry charges fee for coming out by appointment, during weekday business hours that does not go toward your bill. They tell you up front. What they don’t tell you is that they also charge you a credit card fee and a gasoline fee. My question is how is it that they can charge you an appointment fee at all that doesn’t go toward your bill? How is this a legal practice? No other industry charges a fee for an appointment. If it was after hours or emergency call this would make sense but this was a 9 to 5 weekday call. Then on my invoice they charge me for the gas for them to come out as well as a credit card fee. So the hundred dollars is just for them to make an appointment. Doctors don’t even charge this. Who is regulating this industry and how is it that no one has complained about this practice.
