Comment: Beware of this contractor.
Contractor was hired on August 14th, 2020 and paid $9350.00 as half of payment on 2 bathrooms and a kitchen renovation. Work did not begin until August 25, 2020. Labor was inconsistent, poor quality, unskilled and sporadic. Contractor asked for $3000 more dollars on September 9, 2020 and was paid $1000 on September 9, 2020 and $500 on September 10, 2020 and $1500 on September 14, 2020. On September 15, 2020 homeowner purchased dumpster for $425 because backyard was being used as dumpster. Contractor and laborers did not show up for days in a row or came only for a few hours, sometimes at odd working hours. Many materials were damaged or improperly installed, costing more to correct them including a gas line that was never permitted, though homeowners were told it would be. On September 21, 2020 homeowners asked contractor to partner with another contractor to complete job and he agreed. Contractor was also asked to provide receipts for materials and labor, but has not provided to date. After agreeing to partner with new contractor and admitting it was his fault and he "would have done the same thing" he nver showed up and did not respond to correspondence. Contractor offered to refund only $4000 of the $12775.00 paid. Homeowners attempted to negotiate but contractor did not respond. After consulting with several other contractors, the cost of work done (mostly demolition) was around $2000-$4000 not including the cost to repair improperly installed items. Damages to home and property include but are not limited to: cut radiator pipe not fixed, leaking water in basement, demolition and debris not cleaned up, backyard used as dumpster, new materials left outside in elements, tile purchased by homeowner damaged and incorrectly installed, drywall damaged and improperly installed, hard wood floors not covered and ruined with mortar and debris, gas line not permitted, electrician not hired as promised, windows never installed, pre hung door never installed, barn door assembled incorrectly, new cabinets damaged and improperly installed, new sink improperly installed, countertop template had to come to site three times because cabinets were not leveled correctly, personal trash left throughout worksite and loss of key to premises costing for a locksmith.
Update: 11/17 Contractor agrees he is at fault and will refund a portion of payment. Does not make payment as promised (and signed for) and again asks for an extension. Do not trust with your home or money.
